Tondra P. Cheramie

Tondra Peralta Cheramie, age 57, passed away peacefully in the arms of her husband, children and grandchildren on February 18, 2026. Tondra was born April 13, 1968, in New Orleans, LA to Val and Marie Peralta. She was proudly raised in Violet, LA and spent the greater majority of her life in St. Bernard Parish. Tondra retired from a successful career as a BSN in the medical field where she was able to do what she loved most, helping people. Since 2005 she shared her life with her partner and husband Kenny Cheramie until the time of her death.

Tondra is preceded in death by her father Val Peralta and her brother John Peralta. She is survived by her beloved husband Kenny. Loving mother of Devin, Tyler (Laynie), Cole (Olivia), Britten and Melisse (Charles). Devoted Nana to Vayda, Holland, Braxton, Jaxon and Baylor. She leaves behind her mother Marie Peralta, her brother Lorne Peralta (Juanita), her sister-in-law Jody (John), her father-in-law Kenny Cheramie and a host of nieces and nephews.

Tondra treasured time with her family and friends and found special joy at the camp in Delacroix that she and Kenny built together - a place filled with love and wonderful memories. She was a devoted member of Right Direction Church, where she grew in faith and formed lifelong friendships. She was well loved and will be profoundly missed, but her warmth and the memories she gave us will stay with us always.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St. in Chalmette from 9:00AM - 11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in Tondra's memory beginning at 11:00AM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
