Yvonne Marie Schmidt Weaver

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yvonne Marie Schmidt Weaver on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the age of 73. Yvonne was immensely proud of her career at the National Finance Center (NFC), where she made a lasting impact through her work, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.

Outside of her professional life, Yvonne was a devoted mother and cherished her family deeply. She enjoyed attending music festivals, tending to her garden, and especially loved spending time with her family.

Yvonne served as an integral part of the NFC, an agency that plays a pivotal role in providing financial services to the federal government and its employees. She was known for her meticulous attention to details, and her strong work ethic.

Yvonne is survived by her loving children Herman “Dooney” Garfield Weaver III (Tracie) Heidi Weaver (Nick), Glen Weaver (Spring), and Tassie Weaver (Bruce); her stepchildren Natalie Stolf (Chuck) and Chris Weaver; her adoring grandchildren Kaitlyn Weaver, Kelsey Weaver, Kiley Weaver, Michael (Ashley) Lopiccolo, Jackson Dartez, Val Weaver, Carys Weaver, Stephen Gourgues, and Tristan Gourgues; her great-grandson Jaxsen Russell; her step-grandchildren Bailey (Scott) Herring, Taylor Luna, Kayla Stolf, Charley Weaver, and Drew Weaver; her sister Patrice Rother; and her nephew Melvin E. Schmidt III. She will be dearly missed by her many relatives and friends who lovingly knew her by “Mamee.”

Yvonne is preceded by her parents Melvin Edward Schmidt Sr. and Val Theresa Healy; her grandchildren Brynm Weaver and Amanda Lopiccolo; her brother Melvin E. Schmidt Jr.; and her nephew Raymond Rother Jr.

Yvonne’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her, but her work, her spirit, and her devotion to her family and community will continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM.
