Anabel Lee Cox

Anne was born in Clarinda, IA on 8/18/1937 to Glade and Dorothy Hale. Upon graduation from Clarinda High School in 1955, Anne married Junior (Vern) Cox on 6/12/1955. The newlyweds moved to Omaha, NE where they resided until August, 1970. Anne was a fulltime mom for her girls and supported Vern in his endeavors.

The move to Chandler, AZ came with the invitation from Vern’s parents to assist with the expansion of their mobile home park, Chandler Gardens and then later the development of Evergreen Villa Mobile Home Park. Anne began her employment with Kmart and 28 years later, she retired in 2000.

Anne was very creative and enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitch. She blessed many family members with one of her projects. She also enjoyed reading, road trips, camping, and always spending time with her family.

Anne is survived by four of her children – Joanna (Dan) Lawrence of Gilbert, AZ; Dianna (Bob) Hutcheson of Chandler, AZ; Brian (Laura) Cox of Gilbert, AZ; and Jason Cox of Chandler, AZ. She has seven grandchildren – Sumer Goldstein, Annlee (Ty) Goggans, Emalee (Tyler) Grant, Joseph Lawrence, Keagan Cox, Abigail Cox and Rachel Cox; and five great grandchildren – Madicyne, Joshua, Ethan, Trey and Donovan. Her sister-in-law Marge (Duane) Hart resides in Arvada, CO and sister-in-law Barbara Hale in Centerville, IA. She has seven nieces and nephews – Kelly, David, Jeff, Megan, Amber, Kari, and Nanette.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents Glade and Dorothy Hale; her brother Jim Hale; her husband Vern Cox and her beloved daughter, Brenna.

Services will be held at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon hosted by the family at the same site.
