Incredibly beautiful on the inside and out...

Bonnie was such a special, caring, delightful, one of kind person and dear dear friend for over 45 years! We met in 1977,  when Bonnie worked with my mother at Germaine Monteil, a cosmetic company in NYC. My mother was National Sales Manager heading up a new cosmetic/fragrance line called Montage and Bonnie (33) was one of her first hires. They became lifelong friends. I was 17 and completely wowed by this incredible and stunning woman. Beyond beautiful, inside and out. A more caring person you could never find. I thoroughly enjoyed our friendship through the years. After my mother passed in 2015, Bonnie was such a great friend and comfort to me. A special soul and human being for sure. I loved her dearly and will miss her in my life very much. Rest in peace, my friend. Thanks for being you, enriching my life and the lives of others. ♥️♥️🙏🏻

Bonnie could light up a room just by entering it.  Her heart was as big as her smile.  Always first with a great idea or suggestion for a lunch or dinner get together, and on each occasion her warmth, humor and caring set the tone for a fun and memorable event.
This photo was taken June 2019 at her surprise birthday party. Bonnie was easy to buy for....chocolate covered strawberries. Oh how she loved them.  I think she ate most of them before the party was over.
The world can ill afford to lose a shining star like  Bonnie Dursi Shapiro.  It's so hard to say good-bye.


I met Bonnie through pur craft group and found that she was so kind and sweet.  Always had a smile on her face and a joy to be around.  She will be greatly missed.  Sending prayers and condolences to the family.  🙏🏻

My Soul Has a Hat

I counted my years and realized that I have less time to live by, than I have lived so far.

I feel like a child who won a pack of candies: at first, he ate them with pleasure but when he realized that there was little left, he began to taste them intensely.

I have no time for endless meetings where the statutes, rules, procedures and internal regulations are discussed, knowing that nothing will be done.

I no longer have the patience to stand absurd people who, despite their chronological age, have not grown up.

My time is too short: I want the essence; my spirit is in a hurry. I do not have much candy in the package anymore.

I want to live next to humans, very realistic people who know how to laugh at their mistakes and who are not inflated by their own triumphs and who take responsibility for their actions. In this way, human dignity is defended and we live in truth and honesty.

It is the essentials that make life useful.

I want to surround myself with people who know how to touch the hearts of those whom hard strokes of life have learned to grow with sweet touches of the soul.

Yes, I'm in a hurry. I'm in a hurry to live with the intensity that only maturity can give.

I do not intend to waste any of the remaining desserts. I am sure they will be exquisite, much more than those eaten so far.

My goal is to reach the end satisfied and at peace with my loved ones and my conscience.

We have two lives and the second begins when you realize you only have one.

Dear Bonnie,

Decades ago, we agreed – until the end, just keep on dancing no matter how out-of-step!  Find others that like your dance and a few that will even join you.    

We shared many rough times – but you’d always make sure I could still hear the music – and vice versa.  There were also a bunch of adventures, birthday celebrations and I was really looking forward to sharing lots more laughter.  

You brought joy to so many people.  Little can surpass the delight on the face of my brother, Jack, every time you visited him at the nursing home … except maybe when you visited with Lily!  
  
This morning I awoke with a broad grin when I realized you’d been visiting in my dreams.  I heard your voice and saw your smile.  Thank you for being a Blessing in my life.  You still fill the room with kindness, grace and light!

We had the pleasure of meeting up with Bonnie many times when we walked the dogs and met up. Our dog and lilli were best friends and would run together until our dog, loli, would gasp for air. We will always remember her kindness toward us and her warm smile every time we met. We will dearly miss her and lilli and know Bonnie is in a happy place smiling down on us. Rest in Peace Bonnie. 

So unbelievable, that rather than writing to Bonnie, I am writing about her. 
I met her through Tammy, while she and I were living in Dutchess County. Her husband, Mike, and I were related. Our mothers were first cousins. I felt as if she and I were related. She made it so easy and natural. 
After my husband died, and I sold our home, I stayed with her for 2 weeks. Again, so giving and natural. A smart, sweet, generous and kind person. 
So hard to believe. No more sharing on phone calls and texts.

We loved Bonnie! She was our neighbor at Liv and was a Joy to know! We had many dinners together and spent time out at the fire pit with awesome conversations.  Our dogs Penelope and Bumble enjoyed hanging out with Bonnie and Lily! She will forever be in our hearts. We will miss her dearly!

Bonnie was smart, funny, and insightful.  She was someone you could have great conversations with about anything ranging from heavy talks about spirituality, religion and politics, to the more mundane and silly talks about food and the Real Housewives on Bravo TV.  I loved her very much and will greatly miss our long conversations and 'Foodie' jaunts to some of her favorite pizza/hot dog/ice cream guilty-pleasure spots that she really enjoyed going to. 💔

Bonnie, was a perfect best friend and I was lucky to have her as mine for 52 years.  We talked, traveled, enjoyed holidays, cried and celebrated together and she was Maid of Honor in my wedding.   My husband Jerry and our three sons considered her family  and always enjoyed her company whenever she was with us.  
Bonnie was beautiful in style and in her daily life.  We all have wonderful memories of her and she will be so missed. Lots of love,

I will always smile when I think of the fun adventures we had together. Meeting at the bus stop at 5:30 am to go to the gym was total insanity but what a great time we had!  You were a wonderful friend and you will never be forgotten .love you forever

Bonnie was such a giving soul. She helped me deal with the death of our dog park friend, Rhonda, and helped me try to find homes for Rhonda’s dogs. She also was a rock when my husband Jim passed the same week as Rhonda. We met very day at the dog park until Bonnie herself fell ill. Bonnie will be missed. I enjoyed her friendship the last few years. May she rest in peace. 

Bonnie was a dear friend for four years.  I called her B. She thought that was funny. She loved having a good time and was always kind  and generous. She missed gardening and planted bushes and flowers outside her apartment. She put Christmas ornaments in a little tree by her home for everyone to enjoy. She was very generous financially with her friends, family and charity. I will miss her in my life and her little beloved pet, Lilly. I will not be a ble to replace her but we will meet again. I love you B
