Bowen Thomas Gillis passed peacefully in the loving arms of his parents, Dr. John M. Gillis and Heather Gillis, on April 20, 2011 at Phoenix Children's Hospital. During his 13 days on this earth, he touched the lives of thousands who loved him and prayed for him faithfully. In addition to his parents, Bowen is survived by his siblings, Brooklyn Sky Gillis and Blake Malcolm Gillis; his loving grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas MacAulay of Landenberg, Pennsylvania and Sherry Gillis and Chris Hieb of Phoenix, Arizona; his Aunts and Uncles, Dr. and Mrs. Jon Hodgson, Dr. and Mrs. John E. Gillis, Mr. and Mrs. Shae Cross, and Mr. Scott MacAulay. We have no doubt that Bowen is celebrating his life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and those of us who were witnesses to Bowen's blessings will strive to celebrate his testimony and impart his love onto others. "Baby Bo" showed us love, compassion, understanding and faith that goes beyond human comprehension. As we prepare for his funeral services, we will do as the Lord commands: "Trust in the Lord with all our hearts; we will not depend on our own understanding." Proverbs 3:5. Services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at The Grove Church located at 2777 S Gilbert Road, Chandler, AZ 85286. Fellowship and Respects will be held from 11:30am - 12:30pm, and the Memorial Service will be held from 12:30pm - 1:30pm.
