Daisy D. (Don) Jew passed away in pure peace and comfort on October 10, 2019. She was 95. Daisy was born in Tucson, AZ on December 17, 1923. She lived her early years in Casa Grande, AZ and graduated from Casa Grande High School in 1942. Daisy worked at Williams Air Force Base for a short time before moving to Los Angeles, CA. While living in Los Angeles, she worked at Decca Records and the Melrose Cafe where she met Roy Cheung Jew. Daisy and Roy were married in LA on November 29, 1947. After the birth of their first child, Michael, they moved to Casa Grande, then to Chandler in 1950 where Daisy and Roy had three more children, John, Carol and Jo Anna. She was active in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Chandler and she volunteered often in her children's classrooms and with local elections. Daisy always made sure that the kids had a hot breakfast before sending them off to school and that dinner was on the table every evening. She loved to get together with her girlfriends for their daily card game before the kids got home from school. Once her grandkids came along, from their births, Daisy was very much involved in their lives and she was often their care giver whether to relieve a sick babysitter or whenever they themselves were ill. Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, who passed on November 2, 2017, her mother, Yuen Shee Don and father, Jack Sam Don, sisters Violet, Claire, Marjorie and Lillian, and brothers Warren and Calvin. She is survived by brother Leslie, sons Michael (Lilli) and John (Jan), and daughters Carol Lewis (Wayne) and Jo Anna Hansen. Daisy had ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A graveside memorial service for Daisy will be held at 1:00 on Friday, November 8 at the Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Chandler. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Americare Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation, 1212 N. Spencer St., Suite 2, Mesa, AZ 85203 in memory of Daisy Don Jew.
