Darrell Bruce Voionmaa

He was born on December 16, 1958 in Flushing, New York to Harry and Barbara (Taber) Voionmaa. Darrell graduated from Ithaca High School in Ithaca, New York. Right after school, Darrell moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1979 with friends, and he was the only one out of any of them to stay.

Darrell worked in the retail industry, mostly in electronics and backyard fun. He met his future wife, Mary Snyder while out of town on business. Darrell and Mary were married on March 12, 1988 in Chandler. Together they shared many wonderful memories on their various adventures such as going on several cruises and trips in their travel trailer.

He was an avid reader, and loved to play golf. Darrell would always espouse the virtues of grilling with real charcoal instead of natural gas. Anyone who knew him would not leave his presence without engaging in the debate on that topic.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Mary; his sister, Monica; brother, Mark; brother-in-law, David (Mary) Snyder; his aunt and uncle, Beverly and Ed Maynard; step-father, Richard "Dick" Welch; and cousins, Cynthia, Cheryl, and Brent. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eric; and his parents.
