Diane Elizabeth Bergelin entered her heavenly home on February 10, 2026, at the age of 86, to be with her Lord Jesus. Throughout her journey on this earth, she touched countless lives with her kindness, gentleness, patience, loving spirit, joyful nature, and deep devotion to her faith. She was truly an extraordinary woman, beautiful both inside and out.
She was born on April 1, 1939, to Teckla and Fred Daun in Rhinelander, where she lived through her high school years. She later attended Milwaukee County Nursing School to pursue her nursing education. On February 4, 1961, she married the love of her life, Lee Bergelin. They shared 62 wonderful years of marriage and built a life grounded in love and devotion.
Together, Diane and Lee were blessed with two children, a son, Steve, and a daughter, Beth. They made their home in Brookfield for many years before moving to Arizona. They lived in Scottsdale for a time and then in Sun Lakes for quite a few years. After her husband Lee went to heaven, Diane spent the last three years of her life living with her daughter in Chandler.
Diane cherished her family above all else. She delighted in traveling and treasured time spent together. A devoted and enthusiastic supporter of her children, she attended nearly all of their athletic events. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf and was an avid fan—and proud owner—of the Green Bay Packers.
Throughout her life, Diane’s faith in God remained steadfast and unwavering. She was a passionate member of Our Redeemer and Risen Savior. She found great joy in volunteering at church, attending Bible studies, and participating in church events. Her church family held a very special place in her heart.
Diane is survived by her son, Steve Bergelin (wife Joyce) of Pewaukee, WI; her daughter, Beth Zych (boyfriend Ron Bartlett) of Chandler, AZ; her granddaughter, Rachel Bergelin of Milwaukee, WI; her brother-in-law, Frank Kohlbeck; and her nieces, Terri King and Kristi Seston. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Bergelin, and two brothers-in-law, Vern Bergelin and Ralph Bergelin.
Diane now joins her loving husband, Lee Bergelin; her dear sister, Nancy Kohlbeck; her mother, Teckla Daun; and her father, Fred Daun, in heaven. She will be deeply and dearly missed.
