Dorothy (Dot) Mae Morgan met her Savior and Friend Jesus face-to-face on the evening of Monday, April 24th, 2017 at her home at Fellowship Square Reflections, Mesa, AZ. She died peacefully in her sleep. Dorothy or as her husband and friends called her “Dot” was born on November 29, 1929 in Enid, OK. She grew up there with her three siblings, sister Betty and two brothers Marvin and Melvin. She married young and had four children within seven years. When that marriage ended, she met and married the love of her life Bud Morgan on October 16, 1953 in their hometown of Enid. Dorothy continued to be a homemaker as two more children were added to their family. Although taking care of her family and home were her primary joy and blessing, she did work outside of the home at various times for short periods. She learned how to care for others as a nurse’s aide, took classes on flower arranging and worked for a florist, learned retail sales at a local jewelry store, and became a licensed real estate agent. Dorothy was an avid reader, gardener, and church volunteer. She became a Christian while living in California in 1961 and because of her strong faith and continuous prayers, her husband and several family members became Christians as well. She changed our family legacy for all eternity! It is with a mixture of deep sadness that we say goodbye to our mom on this side of heaven and with great joy longingly look forward to seeing her in Heaven. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Bud Morgan, her daughters Elaine Jones and Darlene Schrahl, her sons Phillip and Danny Schrahl, her grandson Jesse Etue, her sister Betty Taylor and her brothers Marvin and Melvin Weese. It was a testament to her strength and spirit that all of these losses did not shake her faith but rather strengthened it! She is survived by her daughter Joyce and husband Bruce Dees of Bridgecreek, OK, her son Jeff and wife Kim Morgan of Mesa, AZ, granddaughter Alisha and husband Mike Sams, grandson Greg Roberson, granddaughter Debbie and husband Fred Etue, step-grandson Charles Tarnor, and five great-grandchildren Zachary, Lillian, Addison, Abby, Ricky, and Freddie. She was loved to the moon and back and will be missed terribly. A celebration of life will be held in her honor on May 1, 2017 at 10:00am at Mariposa Gardens Chapel.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Fellowship Square Reflections for their wonderful care of our Mom and to Serenity Hospice for their support in her final days.
