Gary Benson Montague, 81, joined the loving hands of God on November 20, 2020 after a brave battle with renal disease. Gary loved every day of his life here on earth, but finally traded it to join God's kingdom.
Gary's career was long and varied, beginning as a teacher with the Park Hill School District in Parkville, Missouri, and culminating with his successful plastic manufacturing facility, ConTech, in Independence, Missouri. He and Julie left Kansas City in 1996 to retire to the Lake of the Ozarks, and moved to sunny Arizona in 2006.
Gary thoroughly enjoyed sailing, fishing, golfing, woodworking and music. His greatest joy was time spent with his many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Donald "Monty" and Corrine, Gary is survived by his wife, Julie (Johnson) Montague of Chandler, Arizona, and his four brothers and their wives- Keith (Diane), Mike (Melinda), Don (Laurie) and Doug (Connie)- all of Kansas City, three children - Debbie (Rich) Romey, David (Patty) and Suzanne, also of Kansas City, six grandchildren, and 20 nieces and nephews. Gary was so very proud of his family.
A private burial service is planned at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Parkville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations to Infinity Hospice Care Foundation would be appreciated by mailing a check to Infinity Hospice Care Foundation, 8434 E Shea Boulevard, Scottsdale, Arizona, 85260. Gary brought such light to the lives he touched and we are all better for having known and loved him.
Happy trails, Gary, until we meet again.
