Gerald Allen Carlson

He was born In Aitkin, Minnesota on January 6, 1941 to Theodore (Ted) and Evelyn (Forsberg) Carlson. He graduated Aitkin High School in 1959. He earned a bachelor's degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On August 5, 1961 he and Virginia (Ginger) L. Voeltz were united in marriage in the Lutheran Church of Christ the King - Duluth, Minnesota. He had a career in sales and marketing with various companies across the country including Minneapolis (MN), Bloomington (MN), Park Forest (IL), Rockford (IL), Canoga Park (CA), Hopatcong (NJ), Phoenix (AZ), Marrietta (GA), and Sun Lakes (AZ). He retired in Sun Lakes from his job at Home Depot in 1999 and moved to Pine, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia (Ginger) Carlson, father and mother Theodore (Ted) and Evelyn Carlson, Father and mother-in-law Fred and Alma Voeltz and niece Sarah Carlson.

He is survived by sons Scott (Monica) and Rick (Briana) Carlson , daughter Jodi Carlson, sister Marilyn (Rodney "Buck") Twitchell, brother Dennis (Edee) Carlson, Sister-in-law Sharon (Joseph) Smith, brother-in-law Fred (Judy) Voeltz Jr., grandchildren Joshua Rolf, April, Matthew (Brittany), Michael, Bradley, Sabrina, Draven, Toni, Jeni Carlson and Kaitlyn Moran, girlfriend and companion June Mc Henry, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and relatives. He loved his family especially his grandchildren, his church family at Mount Cross Lutheran Church in Payson, Arizona, the many dogs (most recently Max) he had over the years and playing senior softball for over 20 years in Sun Lakes and Payson, Arizona. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery, 10940 East Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, Az. on Tuesday June 25, 2019 from 8:30 am until 10:30 am.
