Harry Raymond Smith - age 84, passed away in Gilbert, Arizona on Thursday, May 30, 2013 following a long battle with cancer. A native of Chariton, Iowa he was born on March 2, 1929, the son of the late Harry and Hazel (Wilson) Smith. Harry was the loving husband of the late Geraldine and was also preceded in death by his son, Mark, and by two of his sisters, Addie and Anne. He is survived by his son, Terry (Penny) Smith, granddaughter, Lydia Smith, grandson, Kory Smith and by his great-grandchildren, Chandler, James and Nathaniel Smith as well as three of his sisters, Marie, Joanne and Nina.
At Harry's request, no services will be held. His remains will be inurned at a later date at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, Chandler, Arizona. Memorial contributions in Harry's name to East Valley Hospice, 1311 W. Chandler Boulevard Suite 200, Chandler, Arizona 85224 preferred.
