

She was raised on a farm south of Seward, Nebraska and graduated from Seward High School in 1951. She then entered Lincoln General School of Nursing where she graduated in 1954. Janice worked at Seward Hospital from 1954 to 1961. She married Don Imig in 1955. They later divorced in 1962. Janice moved with her 3 children to Boulder, Colorado. There she worked at Boulder Community Hospital in the newborn nursery. She enrolled at the University of Colorado to get her Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing. After she graduated, she began her long career in student health, becoming director of nursing at the CU Student Health Center. Janice was an avid Buff fan and the team were her "boys" as she always did their physicals. She retired in 1988.
Janice enjoyed her retirement spending time with her friends, helping her kids when grandkids came along, keeping her yard and house looking nice. She loved cooking and feeding her friends and family. She went to every CU football home game to cheer on the Buffs. Janice also loved her Rockies and Broncos. She moved to Arizona in 2021 to be closer to Vicki when she started having various medical problems and wanted to downsize her life.
She is survived by her 3 children: Bruce Imig, Vicki Beaudet (Steve), Paul Imig (Lanieve); her 6 grandkids: Kara and Kaitlyn Beaudet, Jordan Imig, Grace Imig, Luke Imig (Natalie), Katy Ruiz (Luis); and 3 great grandsons: Trey Ruiz, Isaac Ruiz, and Benjamin Ruiz.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bruce Schroeder.
She was blessed to have her life filled with love and laughter of so many friends and family. She loved the Fourth of July, and due to that her memorial will be in Boulder, Colorado on July 4th, 2026.
Janice did not wish for donations or remembrances. Instead, she wanted everyone to treat someone they loved to a hug.
