Jean was the youngest of 4 children. She grew up in Hamilton and attended Hamilton High West. Upon graduating, she matriculated to Trenton State Teachers College, where she began her teaching career. While at Trenton State, she began a long association with the Lanning School, first as a practice teacher in Mrs. Alito’s class (the mother of the Supreme Court Justice), and then again in 1966 when Abiding Presence held their Sunday Services at the Lanning School. Finally, Jean finished her teaching career there with the Ewing Public Schools in the late 1980’s.
Jean spent her first 88 years in New Jersey. In 2013 Jean moved to Phoenix to spend time with her son, Bill, and family. Jean enjoyed living in Arizona but New Jersey was always in her heart.
On August 28, 2024, Jean joined her late husband, Bill, of 47 years in the kingdom of heaven. She is survived by her daughter Kate (husband Mike), son Bill, and his sons Billy and John, grandsons Adrian (wife Christine and great grandchildren Isabella and Zach), and Marty.
