John and his family were our neighbors on S 40th Street. We may have first met when I was walking our dog, or just heading to the park for a walk.  We are heartbroken to hear of his passing! John exemplified what a good neighbor is. We watched out for each other. He was a joy to talk with and we always enjoyed hearing about his kids! He was a good man.  Our prayers are for your comfort, strength and peace.

John tirelessly umpired so many Ahwatukee Little League games.  Our sons played together in Ahwatukee Little League All Stars. I had ran into him at Fry’s several times during that time and afterwards and he was always so friendly. John, thank you for serving our community. I know you will be missed by many. Fly high with the angels.

My heart was broken when I heard the news of John's passing.  He will be missed by so many he had contact with each day.  His joy for his children & his faith was the foundation of his life. I am not only a friend of John and his family through AZ Comm. Church & Bible study, but also with his children who have been in the Pride's Peak Gifted program at Mountain Pointe HS. He loved serving as an umpire for baseball games, not only with our HS district teams but also Community College level. His witness was evident in his integrity & honesty.  John is now reunited with Athena, They are dearly missed. Please continue to lift up their children in prayer as they adjust to the many changes ahead.  They have a good foundation.

Hello my name is Tony Goodthunder, and work with John at Desert Vista. Even though we worked together for a short time he was very proud father, happy about work he did as a sports official, and a security person here at Desert Vista. We chatted a few time in passing and got to know a little about each other,and come to find out we traveled in many of the same circles. I will be very sad for many reasons and one is that I didn’t get to know John better! To John family I am truly sorry and and hope you can find peace, solitude. John you’ll be missed!!!
