Shipp, John 92 of Chandler, Arizona passed away on March 8, 2015. He was born in Covington, LA. On December 25, 1922. John was in the US Army, 157 Battalion Mobile “Red Ball Express”. After 30 years of service he retired from the US Postal Service, where he was a Safety Supervisor. John was a 50-year member of Covenant Lodge #59 F&AM Prince Hall Affiliated Youngstown, Ohio. He is survived by his wife Jane A. Hightower, four children – Dorothy Weatherspoon, John Shipp III, Frances Wells and James Shipp, Sr. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 19th at 10AM at First Institutional Baptist Church (FIBC), 1141 E. Jefferson St, Phoenix, AZ 85034. Contributions may be made to the FIBC, Robert N. Nesby Scholarship Ministry in lieu of flowers.
