

Larry Wesley McDonald, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on May 7th, 2026 in Chandler. He was born on October 8th, 1942, in Mesa, Arizona, and grew up in the East Valley. Larry graduated from Mesa High School (class of 1960) and entered the military. Upon completing his military service, Larry earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Arizona State university.
After high school, Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic and was stationed at Chinook Air Base in Illinois and Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix. During his career, he worked for Motorola, Siemens, and Intel technology in various accounting positions. He enjoyed racing his cars and working on their engines, traveling, camping, and water skiing. Later in life he found great enjoyment in photography capturing everyday moments with a careful eye for detail.
Larry is survived by his wife Carolyn McDonald. He and Carol were together for over 20 years. He is also survived by his previous wife Pat (mother of his children); his brother, Reverend Tim McDonald (Bob); His half-sister, Lisa Dugay; his son, Brent McDonald (LeaAnn);. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kristen Stegeman. He also enjoyed his grandchildren, Taylor Stegeman and Kristen McDonald.
A private service will be held at the city of Mesa Cemetery. Special thanks to Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care.
