

Larry Lee Parker, age 71, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Banner Gardens Hospice House in Mesa, Az. Larry was born in Marion, IN on March 30, 1942, graduated from New Haven High School in 1960, served in the Army National Guard from 1960 to 1964, and graduated from Ball State University in 1975. Larry moved his family to Arizona in 1977. He made a career in data management at Motorola's Government Electronics and Iridium Divisions in Arizona 's East Valley, retiring in 1999. He then spent 10 additional years in data management at Orbital Sciences in Chandler, Az, officially retiring in 2011. Larry was a loving father and grandfather cherishing the moments he spent caring for his entire family. He took such joy in doing for others that he widened his circle of love and support by providing copying services and special treat deliveries on a regular basis to Haley elementary. His children would like to express their gratitude to the amazing staff members of both Banner Desert Samaritan Hospital and Banner Gardens Hospice House for their loving care. Larry is survived by son Timothy (Susan), daughters Andrea Bastek and Jo-el (Christopher) Miller, six grandchildren, brother Rex (Carolyn) McFarren, sisters Mary Jane (Scott) Kenyon and Janet McFarren. He was preceded in death by father Sammy K. Parker, mother Helen Lucas Parker McFarren, stepfather James McFarren and grandson Nicolas Miller. A memorial will be held in January in Chandler, Az.
