IN THE CARE OF

Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery

Linda Morris Hewatt, 79, of Phoenix AZ, passed away on Monday, October 24th, 2022.

Linda was born on October 12th, 1943 in Atlanta GA. She lived in Alpharetta GA for 39 years where she and her husband raised their family. Linda retired from Avon Products after 30 years. She held several positions over the years, but the one she enjoyed most was that of Secretary and Tour Guide. She was an expert at shorthand and took great pride in her work.

She moved to Chandler AZ in 2011, where she was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 35 and served as Chapter Secretary and Membership Chair for years. She was known as the “Georgia Peach.” She enjoyed singing karaoke and going to casinos. She loved to dance, and the color yellow, and smiley faces. She wore Flowers in her hair and sunshine in her heart, and she loved her family dearly.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Royce S. Hewatt, and her great-granddaughter Scarlett Sierra Scroggins.

Her husband was known as “Puddin” to most people, but to her, he was always “Dah’ling Ignat,” and to him, she was “Wiggley.”

She is survived by her three daughters, Sheila Nelson of Woodstock GA, Laura Sukalac of Chandler AZ, and Marcee Hewatt of Dawsonville GA; her Grandchildren, Daniel, Brandy, Coral, and Cyanea Skye; Great-grandchildren who called her gigi-ma, Travis, Myla Moon, Waylon, Bambi, Axl, and Cayde; siblings Michael and Melody; and her tiny beloved dog, Molly.

Linda had a passion for helping children and struggling and homeless veterans. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Packages From Home (www.packagesfromhome.org)
