

Mammie “Marcella” Burchett of Mesa AZ, passed away at the tender age of 87, on the afternoon of August 25, 2020. She was very comfortable at her home at Fellowship Square Senior Living, and under the care of Hospice of the Valley.
Marcella was born on November 11th, 1932, to Dona May Carter and Walter Harris of Rubottom, OK. The family then moved to Eloy AZ in 1938, where she was raised and attended school. At the age of 16 she met and (with the permission of her mother) married James Burchett.
The couple went on to have three children, J. T. Burchett, David Burchett, and Leatha Burchett. While raising her three children Marcella worked. For five years she was employed by Henry I Siegel Manufacturing Company. She then began advancing her career at First Interstate Bank of Arizona, where she stayed for over 22 years.
Marcella was a loving wife and mother. She worked hard, and was very talented. She was the kind of person that could easily master anything she took on.
Marcella is proceeded in death by her husband James Burchett, and her granddaughter Saranna Simmons.
She leaves behind her 2 sons J.T. (Terry), David (Julie), and daughter Leatha Simmons (Walter), 7 grand-children, Amber, Andrew, Alissa, Tyler, Stacia, Krista, and Sasha, as well as 10 great grand-children.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the service will be for immediate family only.
Masks are required as well as social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations given to either Hospice of the Valley (hov.org) or Fellowship Square Historic Mesa (fellowshipsquareseniorliving.org)
