Maria Celia Lara was born in 1935 in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was a long-time resident of Chandler, Arizona, she peacefully entered eternal life on Saturday the 7th of December in Mesa, Arizona.
Celia was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and seamstress. She was a Eucharistic Minister for the Catholic church. Celia had a heart for volunteering for the St. Vincent De Paul food bank where she was honored for her 15 years of service. She loved to fellowship with her friends during their monthly lunch gatherings. She adored her loved ones and cherished creating memories with them. She was the matriarch of her family and a God fearing woman. Although she was little, she was fierce and well respected by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her five children, Emma Coronado, Guadalupe Zapata, Jesus Lara, Mary Slife, Teri Zapata, seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jesus Lara, son Tony Lara and grandson Jason Godinez.
