I met my dearest friend Missie while working together at Allstate.  Missie was pregnant with Andy at the time.  Shortly after that I had the honor of meeting her Mom, dear sweet Maureen.  I have so many memories of this little but mighty lady.  She would have conversations and would tell stories that you just didn't want to end, with her lovely Irish accent.    She was always so kind to me, as she was with everyone.  She was very special and I will always carry her in my heart.   Now she has gone to be with Jesus in paradise.  She will be missed but never forgotten.  Until we meet again Maureen.  With love, Julie

I met Missie’s mom, Maureen, many years ago when Missie and I worked in the same office.  What a beautiful, classy lady!  That was my first impression of Mrs. Ortegon.  She was so sweet and very honest and straightforward. I always admired the very tight and loving relationship Missie had with her beautiful mom....and dad, of course.  God granted  this kind and classy lady a long and beautiful life....100 years; a true blessing indeed!  But the Lord decided it was time for her to go to her eternal resting place.  May the Light of our Lord’s beautiful face shine upon Maureen for eternity.  Rest In Peace.✝️💜✝️

I am Maureen's first cousin from Ireland, where my Dad James stayed on and the older brother John Hugh emigrated to US early and married early, resulting in a big age gap between Maureen and I, as my Dad married at age 55 after fighting for Irish freedom under Michael Collins.
Since I mover to US (Chicago for 46 years) found a wonderful welcome from Maureen and Hector and was fortunate enough to visit Maureen and Hector, with Missie in Maricopa, fairly recently.  Have always enjoyed their company/hospitality and will miss Maureen deeply! She has well earned her eternal rest!


For our dear, dear Irish friend,  We have so many wonderful and fun memories it would be difficult to put them all in writing.  We met in the 70's and developed a friendship that most people would envy.  We had some great party weekends with grass skirts, Boone's Farm and trips to Big Bear at midnight.  Maureen was always ready to party and so were we.  We have not known an Irish gal to cook such great Mexican food.  I guess Hector's Mom  taught you well.  We shall hold our memories dear for the rest of our lives.

Fiesta week in San Antonio, TX always meant my aunt Maureen and uncle Hector were visiting from Cali! After almost every wise acre comment from my uncle, aunt Maureen would always say,          " Ohh, Hector ".  Forever Blessed by her love.

My greatest memory of Aunt Maureen was for every holiday or family get together was her baked macaroni and cheese. Always knew if she was there so would it. Also I spent many weekends at the house and never felt unwanted or a burden. She went out of her way to always make me feel comfortable. She was a kind Irish lady and made us laugh a lot. She will be missed.
