

Milton D. Holman, aged 90, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Sullivan Park Assisted Living in Spokane Valley, Washington. He was born May 17, 1921, in Park Rapids, Minnesota to Arthur and Grace Holman.
Milton grew up in Park Rapids. In 1935 Milton made his choice to serve God and did so faithfully and quietly throughout his life.
Milton enjoyed reading, hiking, traveling, fishing, snowmobiling, and fixing motors.
Before being inducted into the army in 1944, he worked as a machinist making production jigs for war planes in California. He served in the Philippines during WWII as a diesel mechanic.
He married Ethel Warner on July 6, 1940. After the war, they purchased a farm near Park Rapids, Minnesota. They moved to Silver Bay, Minnesota, in 1957 where he worked for Reserve Mining Company as a machinist. After retiring in 1983 he and Ethel moved to Arizona where they lived for 20 years in Mesa. During this time Milton and Ethel enjoyed each summer by spending time with their children and grandchildren. They were married 63 years before Ethel passed on in 2003.
He is survived by his six children, Charles (Jean), Atwater, Minnesota; Roger (Kathy) of Chisholm, Minnesota; Beverly (Robert) Simmons of Greenville, Michigan; Darlene Spars (Stephen Hancock) of Naples, Florida; Timothy (Lois), of Liberty Lake, Washington; and Adelle Jorgenson (J. Todd Knutson) of Harris, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
