

Myron Julian Thompson, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2015, surrounded by family. Born on September 19, 1928 in Ivanhoe, Minnesota, Myron was the oldest of two children born to Marvin and Florence Thompson. Myron graduated from Marshall High School, in Minnesota, and studied at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On January 31, 1953 he married Evelyn Jeannette Jensen, and together they raised four children: Clark (Don), Craig (Mary), Sara (Richard) and Dan (Ann). Myron is survived by his wife Evelyn, his children, sister Berniel (Jim) and his nine grandchildren.
In 1992 Myron retired from Chevron Oil (including City Service and Golf Oil) after 30 plus years of service and relocated to the Phoenix, Arizona area. Myron exemplified kindness, and an unconditional love of his family and friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was active with the Masons, Shriners and Lion’s Club International. Myron and Evelyn were also very active in their church and with Meals on Wheels. Myron loved helping people in need and will be forever missed.
A memorial service will be held at Chandler United Methodist Church at 450 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85249. chandlermethodist.org, at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016. There will be a time of fellowship and reflection following the memorial service.
