10 years since you passed. Its -20 degrees today ( actual temp) & it seems fitting as many of my memories are you coming inside after snowblowing. Glasses fogged and dark as if you were out in the blazing sun, ice frozen to your mustache just from you breathing out there.  You had that green parka (orange on the inside) - standard air force issue from the mid 70's that you still wore as your winter jacket and of course that black 'watch cap' that was so tight, I swear it is what cut off circulation & made you bald in your 20's! Nah- Christopher got your hair genes & had to shave his head prior to being 30. You would be proud of him, dad. You'd be proud of all of us. You would be very upset and hopeless at what the world has become. This is the 1 thing am glad you aren't alive to see. Buzz died last month, buried at the VA cemetary. I do wish you had a military funeral...I am still upset at the 'joke' of words listed here as your memorandum. You deserved so much more, in so many ways - the minimum being beautiful words that represented who you were & the grand imprint you left on the hearts of the people who knew and loved you. I am glad you are with mom. Your relationship was one that could cross the barrier between earth & heaven. 10 years ago you left us & re-united with her. This is the only thing that brings me peace today. I am glad you finally have peace as well. I will always love & remember you. 🤎

Thinking of you today, dad. Not just today...but every day. I miss your bear hugs...I miss your wonderful smile and the way your eyes would light up when you saw me. Your grandchildren still talk about you and I make sure to remind them of you often. Your legacy lives on through me and Ben.... and I can see it in your grandchildren. You taught us well and gave us a compass that points due north. "Do the right thing always... especially when no one is looking"... was your motto. They just don't make 'em like you anymore. You were so special to all of us and we miss you! Until we meet again.... know that you are loved.

Look up the word 'uncle' in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of my uncle Pete. He was a brilliant man who always seemed to make time for everybody. He will be sorely missed.

So Sorry for your loss.  We will miss Peter.
