Rachell Nicole Hoff

Rachell Nicole (Whittaker/Crist) Hoff, also known as “Rocky” to her family, many friends and coworkers at Mercy Gilbert Hospital, passed away on February 12, 2024, at the age of 42 in Chandler, AZ. She was born on February 27, 1981, in Devil's Lake, ND. Rachell was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose presence brought joy and light to those around her.

Rachell was an amazing and giving person who made a tremendous impact on all of us. Her smile and shining light would brighten any room. Rachell had a great sense of humor and enjoyed creating her April’s fools pranks that so many fell victim to. While she was a prankster, she was also a very driven woman, and this showed in all of her accomplishments.

Rachell had a long and rewarding career in the medical field. She began her love for medical service as a Phlebotomist in Fargo, ND, and later became a Surgical Technologist at Essentia Health. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND, followed by positions at Banner Cardon's Children's Hospital in Mesa, AZ, and Dignity Mercy Gilbert Hospital in Gilbert, AZ. Many long-lasting friendships were made during her time in the medical field.

Aside from her dedication to her career, Rachell enjoyed traveling and camping (glamping) with friends and family. Her adventurous spirit and love for exploring new places brought her immense joy.

Rachell leaves behind a loving family, including her husband, Shawn Hoff and son, Dylan Mills, both of Chandler, AZ. She is also survived by her mother, Lori Jean Crist of Moorhead, MN, Loving foster parents Gregg and Rick Eberhart, her sisters Jani Skala of Fargo, ND, Heidi Crist of Fargo, ND, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Rachell was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Janice Crist.

A 2nd celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at the Sanctuary Events Center in the “Great Hall” room located at 670 4th Avenue N., Fargo, ND 58102 from 5pm – 10pm.
