SANDRA LEE WARD DIBLER, age 61, suddenly departed our world at her winter home in Sun Lakes, Arizona, for an eternal life with our Heavenly Father on Friday, January 14, 2011. Sandy was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 19, 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Ward, Jr., and Doris Lorraine Cooper. Sandy was survived by her husband, Dennis E. Dibler, of Grandview and Sun Lakes; her brother-son, Frank Cooper Ward, his wife, Melissa, and their children, William and Natalie, of Overland Park, Kansas; her daughter, Elizabeth Christina Dibler, and her two children, Evan Charles Musial and Erik Carter Musial, of Chicago, Illinois; her son, Edward Allen Dibler, of Grandview, Missouri; her brother, Wayne A. Ward and his wife, Vicki Marshall Ward, of Columbia, Missouri; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Sandy was a friendly, loving, and caring woman who dearly loved family and friends; her Lord and savior; being a “Grandma”, and baking cookies with her grandchildren; the early “Beatles”; talking to little children and telling them about her grandchildren; shopping; the brave men and women serving our country; spoiling her grandchildren; and last but not least, her daily phone calls with her daughter. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, a doting grandmother, the kind of person you would want to have as a friend, and in every respect, a first class lady who in all phases of her life “walked the walk” when it came to her Christian faith and love for her fellow man. Services for Sandy will be held at the Grandview First Baptist Church at 1416 Main Street, Grandview, MO, with visitation at 11 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011, followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m. and reception thereafter. Interment will be at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at the Millersburg Cemetery in Millersburg, Missouri, followed by a period of visitation at Millersburg Baptist Church. The family would request, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Sandy’s name to either of Sandy’s two favorite charities: the American Cancer Society, a charity devoted to the cure and prevention of the disease, which while never affecting her personally, ravaged many of her family members and friends throughout the years, or Segs4Vets, a charitable organization dedicated to providing mobility devices for wounded and disabled veterans.
Arrangements under the direction of Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, Chandler, AZ.
