Shirley Ann Hood

Shirley Ann Hood (née Young) passed away on December 16, 2023 at the age of 96. Shirley was born on October 3, 1927 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late Donald and Maymie Young. Shirley moved from Ohio in 1937 and grew up in Flat Rock, Michigan where she met her husband of 72 years – Raymond. She and Raymond moved to Trenton, Michigan in 1952 where she raised her family before starting a career as a high school administrative assistant. The two lived there until relocating to Arizona in 2018. Shirley liked square dancing, playing cards and enjoying time with friends, but her biggest joy was her family.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hood; her son, Lynn Hood; sisters, Charlotte and Coralee; her brothers, Robert and William; and a grandson, Lincoln Williams. She is survived by her son, Lee Hood (Susan Armstrong); and her grandchildren, Meghan Hood (Adam Mellor), Lauren Hood, Casey O’Sullivan and Shannon O’Sullivan.
