Susan "Suzy" Pauline Flowers

Suzy was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 19, 1952 to William and Emma Slavin. She married John Anderson and had three (3) sons that she loved dearly: JJ Anderson, Jeffrey Anderson, and Jody Anderson. She also had two (2) grandchildren by her son Jody and his wife Anna: Felix and Aurelia.

Suzy's life included living in Colorado, Texas, Taiwan, Florida and Arizona.

Suzy's former husband John Anderson's job took him from Texas to Florida to work on the Disney World project. Because of this she had the world of Disney at her footsteps! Suzy loved life, her children and the ocean.

I (Tom Flowers), her current husband, met Suzy on May 4, 1995 at a pool party she was having with one of her girlfriends and the girlfriend's young son. Suzy was about to move from a small one-bedroom apartment to a large one-bedroom apartment in the same complex (The Vinings) and I offered to help. I didn't hear from Suzy but two weeks later as I was walking back to my apartment from the gym, her neighbor flagged me down and said Suzy was moving and her son JJ was stuck on the stairwell with a sofa on top of him! I helped her to finish moving, took her to dinner as a housewarming gift and the rest was history.

Suzy had great memories of her childhood friends in Austin where she grew up and the friendships continued to adulthood, especially with her friend Wanda.

She had five brothers and sisters: Charles, Bill, Rose (deceased), Pat and Florence.

A Celebration of Life for Suzy will be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery in the Sunbird Room, located at 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona, 85248. The service is scheduled for February 2, 2026, starting at 10:00 am.

Flowers are welcome but donations in Suzy's memory may be made to Hospice of the Valley of Arizona.
