Thomas "Tommy" Zamora

Thomas "Tommy" Zamora, a devoted and hard-working individual known for his adventurous spirit, passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on March 9, 1954, in San Jose, California, Tom was the oldest of nine children. He graduated from Norte Vista High School in Riverside, California.

Tom's career was marked by his work as an electrician in the aerospace industry, where he contributed significantly at Hughes Aircraft, McDonnell-Douglas, and Boeing. He was especially known for his role in the test flight divisions, working with a group famously known as the "A-Team."

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Tom served as an Aircraft Electrical Systems Specialist from 1978 to 1982. His dedication to his work and service was a testament to his hard-working nature.

In 2009, Tom married Rosalie Chavez, building a family that included his four children from a previous marriage: Thomas Anthony (Carmen) Zamora, Corina (Richard) Moiza, Johnny Zamora, and Melissa Zamora. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many step-children and step-grandchildren.

Tom's personal interests were as vibrant as his professional life. He had a deep passion for music and loved to sing, with a particular fondness for the rock and roll era of the 1950s and 1960s, especially The Beatles. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, particularly on the Clark Fork River near Frenchtown, Montana. Additionally, Tom enjoyed riding his Harley, a passion he indulged in just before retiring.

A visitation will be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery, located at 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona, on February 11, 2026, at 10:00 am. His funeral and celebration of life will occur at the same venue at 11:00 am. Following, Tom will be laid to rest at Valley of the Sun Cemetery at 12:30 PM, with a reception gathering to follow back at the funeral home at 1:00 PM.

Tom's legacy is one of dedication, love for family, and a zest for life that will be remembered by all who knew him.
