Wendy Welt Lamp, 60 of Gilbert passed away in Mesa on Monday December 14, 2020. Wendy was born in Phoenix, AZ June 23, 1960, the firstborn child to loving parents Allen and Martha Welt. Wendy had a mind of her own from a young age, and quickly became a rescuer of animals and a passionate lover of nature and the outdoors. After graduating from Scottsdale High in 1978, she continued to follow her passions and attended Northern Arizona University and earned her Bachelor's degree in Forestry Science in 1982. Following a Welt family tradition of sorts, she accepted a position at Motorola where she would work as a parts specialist for the next 15 years.
Wendy met her husband Robert (Bob) Lamp through Motorola in 1993 and they were married in April of 1995. In 1999, they were blessed with a son Tyler James Lamp, and Wendy's family was her pride and joy. She also continued to be extremely passionate about her animals and was very involved in all things Collie. She showed, bred, and rescued Collies and with her success became an AKC Breeder of Merit. She was extremely proud of her loving family, a faithful and loyal companion and caretaker to her large brood of animals, and a compassionate and giving friend to all that knew her.
Wendy made a true difference in this world in her short time with us and will be eternally missed. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lamp, her son Tyler Lamp, parents Allen and Martha Welt, sisters Cynthia Welt and Becky Welt and nephews Rowan McCullough, Greg Johnson, and Steve Johnson.
A private family service is currently planned in honor of Wendy. A celebration of Wendy’s life will be held at a later to be determined date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to either the Collie Heath Foundation (www.colliehealth.org/product/donations/) or Southwest Collie and Sheltie Rescue (https://swcsrescue.com/) would be appreciated, Collies were truly Wendy’s passion
