From the moment he arrived, Beau was pure perfection. He had many nicknames, including Mr. Beau, Bo-Tato, and Bo-rrito. He was a sweet, chubby, joy-filled baby who loved warm baths, fresh air, and gazing out windows at the world around him. His happiest place was always in the arms of those who loved him, held close and snuggled. Beau’s face was wonderfully expressive, especially through his lips and eyebrows. When he was full, he would press his lips together in a tight little “lip lock,” his own gentle way of telling us he was done. When he stretched, he would lift both arms, tilt his head back, arch in a way that seemed impossible, then fold forward and rest his chin on his crossed arms as he drifted into sleep. He filled his days and nights with little sounds, each one treasured.
In his short but beautifully full life, Beau experienced extraordinary love. He was held by countless family members and friends and even enjoyed a weekend camping trip surrounded by laughter, fresh air, and warmth. His world was one of safety, comfort, and deep affection. His life was blessed, and ours infinitely more so for the privilege of loving him.
Through our grief, Beau has shown us the immense compassion, love, and community that still exists in this world, goodness that often goes unseen. He taught us what it means to show up for others, even when we don’t have the right words, because presence matters more than perfection. He reminded us daily that every minute of life is a precious gift. We are heartbroken, yet profoundly grateful for the 7 weeks and 3 days we were blessed to hold him.
Beau is survived by his loving parents and his big sister, Ava Lynn Bickley. He was the dearly cherished grandson of Heyward and Dawn Bickley, Teresa and David Porter, and Ian and Cindy Rice, and the beloved great-grandson of Shirley Jackson and Beverly Wyckoff. He will also be forever loved by his uncle and aunt, Weston and Mijeong Bickley, along with many extended family members and devoted friends who surrounded his life with unwavering love.
A visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. on November 26, 2025 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carolina Children’s Charity or Ronald McDonald House.
There are no words to express how deeply grateful we are to our family and friends who have held us up with endless love and support, honoring Beau’s memory through their care. Your thoughts, prayers, and presence have carried us through this impossibly difficult time. Please continue to share your love and help keep Mr. Beau’s beautiful legacy alive.
