Mr. Koon worked as an electrician with RECO Company Nevada Test Site. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church.
He is survived by daughters, Donna Smithers (Gene) and Sherri Johnson (Neil); grandchildren, Amber Lynn Suber and Arielle Frost (Nick Samson); great grandchild, Aybrianna “Abby” Williams; brothers, Richard Koon (Frieda), "Bud” James Koon (Marlene), John Koon (Darnell); sisters, Mary Hunter (James), Jo Ellen Nicholson, Peggy Garnand (Bob) and brother-in-law, Herbert Lindler of Las Vegas, NV.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Rd., Chapin, SC 29036 with visitation one hour before the service in the Church Parrish Hall.
The family requests that memorials be given to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Rd., Chapin, SC 29036.
