PROSPERITY – A graveside service for Charles L. Harwell, 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Newberry EMS and Fire Department, 540 Wilson Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
Mr. Harwell was born November 9, 1939 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was a son of Gilbert C. Harwell and Mary Margaret Hook Harwell. Mr. Harwell worked as a security guard at the State Farmer’s Market, and he loved to work on cars.
Mr. Harwell is survived by his brother, Donald G. Harwell; son, Charles B. Harwell (Donna); grandchildren, Baron and Allie Harwell, Amanda, Emily, Will and Collin Brinson; great-grandchildren, Logan and Ethan Ward. He was predeceased by a grandson, Alex Harwell.
