Evelyn Roland

CHAPIN – Funeral services for Evelyn Roland, 86, will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church in Chapin with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Pallbearers will be Clay Roland, Jeremy Roland, Darren Sigmon, Kevin Shetley, Gene Roland and Joshua Patterson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Carrol Pinner, Stoney Roland and T. J. Roland.

Mrs. Roland was born November 24, 1928 in Chapin, SC and passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015. She was a loving mother, grandmother; great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved parties, music and sang with the Hired Hands.

Surviving are her sons, Wade E, Roland (Mona) of Lexington, Darrell E. Roland (Debbie) of Chapin and daughter, Piper Barber (Ryan) of Chapin; sisters, Faye Swittenberg of Chapin, Janelle Farr of West Columbia; brother, James E. Linder, Jr. of Chapin and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Silas Roland; sons, Silas I. Roland, Jr., Ronald G. Roland, Paul “Tony” Roland and one sister, Gladys Frick.
