CHAPIN – Funeral services for Janet Jolly DeWitt, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Chapin Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Pastor James Clonts will conduct the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Memorials may be made to the church.
Mrs. DeWitt was born September 12, 1925 in Gaffney, SC and passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015. She was a daughter of the late Julius Vernon Jolly and Lillie Allison Jolly. Mrs. DeWitt was a member of Chapin Baptist Church
Surviving are his son, David Bruce DeWitt of Chapin, Douglas Bryan DeWitt (Cynthia) of Marietta, GA, Devin Richards of Portland, OR; daughter, Deborah Mitchell-Kendall (Douglas) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Allison Chitwood, Jessica Allie Paulk, Janet Lynn Mitchell, Vanessa Eddy, Donavan Carter DeWitt, Davidson Scott DeWitt; great-grandchildren, Lucien Paulk, Logan Rex Eddy and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, David Smith DeWitt and sister, Emmie Ethel Jolly Wood.
