Dear Family,
We just heard about the passing of your Joe. He was a great football player here at UTM and friend to my dad, Jack Beeler. Harriett is in assisted living in NC at age 91. Mike in Knoxville, Janet in SC, Danny and I are back in Martin- he is retiring this year from UTM - a veterinarian.  Thankful for your lives. Blessings! Susie Beeler Walker

Dear Coach,
My heart hurts hearing of your passing, I knew you for such a short time in my life but you had such a major impact on me that I have always kept  you in my heart, I remember when you would slide your flip flops off and I would smell those stinky feet , lol, when we would watch film. I would follow behind you in your truck on a weekday afternoon to break down film. I could never catch up to you as you drove a little fast from Medford to PVI, lol. 
You taught me so much, I have few regrets in life, but another regret is not trying to find you to reach out to you after all these years, 
I looked up your name today on the internet and saw your picture and my heart dropped. This is the day  that your ceremony was held. I still have your plays that you  drew up on yellow lined paper which you loved to use. 
 I will never ever ever forget you Coach. Never….


Dear old friend, sorry to hear of your passing.  I will always remember the good times we had, beginning in grade school.  I will remember you always especially on 7-26 my birthday.  Rest in peace GOOMBAH.

I was saddened to learn the news concerning Joe.  We were teammates at UT-Martin and I have fond memories of our time together. My prayers are with the Taffoni family as you grieve your loss.   Sincerely.......Ray Geddings

Mr Taffoni had a personality bigger than life.  He will no doubt be missed but his spirit lives on with his amazing family and the people he impacted.  Rest in peace Joe.

We grew up together in Nemacolin. I still have pictures when were at Boy Scout camp. We used to practice  the Morse Code from our bedroom window. I wish we would have kept in touch.

I am deeply saddened by the news of your loss. I did not know Mr. Taffoni as long as many others but I could still ascertain the extraordinary man he was. He was kind, he had a great sense of humor and always made me laugh. I know he loved his family greatly and was so proud of them all. He would brag about his grandkids and beam with pride. We talked about his football years and he joked about me giving him brown coban because his team was the Browns. I enjoyed bringing him homemade treats & was honored to help take care of him when he came in for a test. May God give him eternal rest and the family the strength to bear the great pain.  My deepest sympathies to Mrs. Taffoni, Matt, Maria and the rest of the family.
