

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Mrs. Linda Callahan Wilson, 69, of Chapin, SC, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who passed away peacefully at home from complications from cancer.
Linda was the daughter of the late Earl Leon Callahan. She is also preceded in death by her nephew, Donald “Donnie” Mill. She is survived by her 97 year old mother, Frances Chaplin Callahan of Columbia, SC; her beloved husband, Norman, of 43 years; daughter, Hillary Michele Stamps and husband, Russell; grandchildren, Grayson, Walker and Adeline “Addy” Stamps; sister, Karen James; stepdaughter, Kristen Couper; brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Wilson (Bambi); and affectionately known as “Aunt L” to her nephews, William “Scotty” Mill (Susan), Ronald D. “Ronnie” Mill (Ted) and Richard P. “Ricky” Mill (Allison). She also leaves behind her loving dog, “Happy” and many special friends.
When diagnosed with cancer, she faced it with courage, perseverance and grace and never gave up. She was a woman of great faith and served, with her husband, as a greeter (usher) at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Chapin. Linda thoroughly enjoyed life and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her enjoyed life all the more because of her.
Linda was a native of Charleston, SC and graduated from the University of South Carolina. Linda worked for nearly 20 years as a Paralegal for the firm of Harrell, Martin & Peace in Chapin, SC and was very respected and loved for her work ethic, skills, and energizing personality. Previously, her career as a Paralegal was in Frederick, Maryland; Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Columbia.
She valued family, especially her grandchildren, and friends and was cherished by so many. She will be remembered for her smile, southern hospitality, and infectious laugh. Her generous and caring spirit will always be remembered by those that knew her. Linda enjoyed going to her beach home where she shared many good times with special friends and loved hosting family and friends at their lake home where she made everyone feel “at home and comfortable”. She will be most remembered for her commitment and unconditional love for her family and devotion and love of her job. Holidays “with family” were very special and meaningful to Linda. She was an avid reader and bridge player and had a passion for shagging and her SC Gamecocks.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Thomas Lutheran Church on St. Thomas Church Road. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, at 5:00 p.m. at the same location, officiated by The Rev. Larry Hagerty. Interment will be at St. Thomas Lutheran Church Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Linda’s memory may be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Mill, Ricky Mill, Ronnie Mill, Joe Pruitt, Dennis Martin, Russell Stamps and Chuck Wilson, Honorary Pallbearer.
