CHAPIN - Susan Lassiter George, 86, of Chapin was born, February 18, 1931 in Chapin, SC a daughter of the late Alvis H. Lassiter, Sr. and Mary Helen Haltiwanger James. She passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. She was employed by GE, Allied Chemical and retired from Ellett Brothers as Receiving Manager. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sibling and friend. Her family was her world.
Surviving is her son, Andy H. George of Chapin; grandson, Matthew G. George of Columbia; sister, Rose L. Bickley of Chapin and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Hugh George; brothers, Joseph Perry Lassiter and Alvis H. Lassiter, Jr; sister, Mary Helen Lassiter; step-father, Reuben R. James and a special friend, Lewis Lindler
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Friday, January 12, 2018 at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, 101 E. Boundary St., Chapin, SC 29036 or Carolina Children’s Charity, PO Box 30068, Charleston, SC 29417. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home Chapin Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
