

Monta Gregorich Clingenpeel (Molly), 88 passed away at Hubbard Hospice House on February 1st after a long illness. Molly was born on November 7th, 1926 in Richwood, WV and grew up in Swandale, WV where she graduated from Clay County High School. After attending nursing school at Charleston General Hospital, Molly served as a registered nurse at the DuPont Belle facility, the Charleston Memorial Hospital and the Charleston Women and Children's Hospital. Molly’s faith was very important to her, and she was active as a volunteer and circle member as well as serving as an Elder at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church. She was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2000 by Health Right of West Virginia, for her devotion to assisting the less fortunate with their health concerns. Molly was an avid rosarian. She was an accredited horticultural rose judge, consulting rosarian and member of the Charleston Rose Society and American Rose Society (ARS). In recognition of her years of devoted service to the Colonial District of the ARS, she was awarded its highest honor, the Silver Medal, in 2001. In addition to rose growing and exhibiting, she also enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie, brothers Doyle, Fred, Paul, and Gene Gregorich and sister Bea Gregorich. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Bruce LeRoy), granddaughter Madison LeRoy, her brother Omer Gregorich, sisters Judy Hart (John Coulter) and Mary Gregorich plus many nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thanks to niece Emmy Withrow, Lou Maxson, Richard Hanlon, Susan Stafford and Diane Peck for all their visits, care and friendship during her illness. Services will be held Friday, February 6th at 1pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 420 Lee St. West, Charleston with the Rev. Todd Wright officiating. The family will receive 1 hour prior to the funeral. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hubbard Hospice House for the loving care they provided to Molly.
