Mr. Albert C. Kirby

Mr. Kirby, 91 of Charlotte, NC passed away April 8, 2016, at Roper St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, SC. He was born January 18, 1925, the son of the late Henry Curtis and Myrtle Pennell Kirby of Belmont, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mildred Baggett Kirby. He is survived by his sons Albert C. Kirby Jr. of South Florida, David M. Kirby and wife Lynn, of Mount Pleasant, SC and Michael W. Kirby of Charlotte, NC and his three grandchildren Jason Kirby of Mount Pleasant, SC, Whitney Kirby Ledbetter and husband Chris of Mount Pleasant, SC, Katie Kirby and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Mason Ledbetter. Also by his brother Charles Kirby and sister Lucille Kirby Scarborough. Albert was preceded in death by son John D. Kirby, grandson Ryan Michael Kirby, brothers Fred Mitchell Kirby Sr, Jay D.Kirby, George Henry Kirby, Sr., and sister Pauline Kirby Frady. Albert was a member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church, the Walter Miller Sunday School Class and the United Methodists Men. He was a World War II Veteran. Albert was a proud member of The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors where he was the first President of the Carolina Chapter. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 14th, 2016 at McEwen Funeral Services, 5716 Monroe Rd. A graveside service will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church in honor of Albert and Mildred.
