To her husband John, she was an incredible gift— not only a partner but a true companion— kind to everyone, funny, and fiercely loyal.
Much of her life was spent as an educator caring and often fighting for the best interests of the hundreds of children she served.
She loved her grandchildren with her whole heart and delighted in creating activities and adventures for them. She devoted much time and care to her two young granddaughters and they benefited greatly from her generous and thoughtful spirit. She asked them to call her “Cookie” which was apt because she was without equal in her baking skills. She even managed her time and talent to provide beautiful custom campaign cookies to support local female candidates she believed in.
She doted on her mother, sister, and nephews throughout her life. Family was always the focus.
She is survived by her husband John; stepdaughter Heather (Lesley); twin granddaughters Langdon and Elise; beloved sister Vickie Hale (Frank); three cherished nephews, Dylan, Ian and Connor; and an adorable but high maintenance mini toy poodle named “Beetle” who devotedly never left her side.
