Born on September 25, 1981 in Nashville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Robert P. Richards and Vera Dunlap Richards. She attended St. Ann Catholic School, Charlotte Catholic High School class of 1999 and Central Piedmont Community College where she studied Culinary Arts.
Andrea had a passion for caring for the homeless, designing and making jewelry, and writing song lyrics. She also had a passion as a barista and once had aspirations of opening a coffee shop.
She is survived by her parents Bob and Vera Richards of Charlotte; her sister Alecia Hogan of Charlotte; her brother Paul Richards and his wife Stephanie of Charlotte; and her nieces and nephew Leia Richards, Isabella Hogan, and Pierce Hogan all of Charlotte; her paternal grandmother Betty Richards of Bolivar, Missouri; and last but not least, her beloved 17 year old dog, Jack.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Men’s and Women’s Homeless Shelters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Visitation will be at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210 on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 5 - 7 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Day Chapel, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277 on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 1 pm.
Burial will follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, 3700 Forest Lawn Rd., Matthews, NC 28104.
