A lifelong resident of charlotte, NC, Anne was born in 1961 to N. Lewis and Marjorie Wiggins Hall. Anne graduated in 1980 from West Charlotte High School and went on to earn a degree as a medical technician from UNC-G. Post-graduation, she worked as a lab technician for Presbyterian Hospital and the Red Cross blood Bank in charlotte. She spent the past 15+ years as a nursing and lab technician at Gaston Family Care in Gastonia, NC.
A life well lived, she is survived by her fiancé Harry Johnson, three sons, Josh Barker (wife: Jenn and daughters Zoe and Allison Kendrick), Andy Barker and Jake Barker, Jane "Memaw" and David "Grandpa" Barker, dear friend and traveling buddy, Mary Wannamaker, all of Charlotte, and lifelong friend and "sister", Anne Fowler Schenk of Gastonia. she will also be missed by Woddie and Beth (Wiggins) Hall of Asheville, NC, and a myriad of other cousins from Georgia to Virginia and her beloved fur baby, Wrigley.
She was a life member of First United Methodist church of Charlotte and participated actively as a youth in the Church's hand bell choir and the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF). she was always a willing volunteer with organizations in which her boys, family and friends were involved including: the Park Sharon Athletic Association, HQ4 Baseball Training Center, PTA, and other school groups.
In addition to joyfully helping and doing for others, she was an avid scrap booker and paper artist, well known among those communities. she was an eclectic collector and was especially fond of Seagrove pottery. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and family, vacationing often in the boys' (and her) favorite Disney world and baseball fields across the Country, (Wrigley Field was a favorite). She loved keeping up with family history and members near and far, cooking, working jigsaw puzzles, watching movies with family. But most importantly, she loved doing things for others, even people she barely knew.
We love you, Anne, and we'll miss you always. Go Cubs!
