Barbara F. Morris

Mrs. Morris, age 84 of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews. She was born in Charlotte, N.C. on September 1, 1926, daughter of the late Lloyd and Catherine Cartledge Fesperman. In addition to her parents,five brothers and one sister, she was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 61 years, Jack. As well as being native Charlotteans, Barbara and Jack were also charter members of Carmel Country Club, Carmel Presbyterian Church, and former members of Plaza Presbyterian Church. They raised their family in the Mountainbrook Community where they lived for over 40 years.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at Plaza Presbyterian Church, 2304 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205, conducted by the Reverend Tom Tate. The family will receive friends during a reception at the church following the service. Interment will be private.

Survivors are her son, Jack Richard Morris, Jr. and his wife Denise of Indian Trail, NC, daughter, Carol Sammarco and her husband Richard of Waxhaw, NC, four grandchildren, Richard H. Morris and his wife Caroline, Jack C. Morris, Jeff Sammarco and Sarah Sammarco, and her only great-grandchild, Madison Anne Morris, born February 15th, two sisters-in-law Sally Fesperman of Franklin, NC and Dot Fesperman of Cornelius, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
