Barbara Allen Parker Price

Barbara Allen Parker Price, age 77, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 at South Minster Levine & Dickson Hospice House.

She was born October 16, 1935 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Mary Stewart Parker. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Mac Price on July 17, 1999 and aunt, Ruth Independence Stewart on July 23, 1999.

Barbara was known for her great sense of humor. She enjoyed painting with watercolors and watching baseball or hockey, especially the Atlanta Braves and Charlotte Checkers. She had a deep fondness of animals and had numerous dogs and cats for companionship over the years. She owned and operated Matthews Hardware with her husband for several years and retired from Myers Park Hardware after a long career.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Price and dear friend, Peggy Price who had helped with her care in the past few years. Barbara had many friendships some of which had lasted since first grade at Sharon School.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, January 7, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
