“Smitty”
Mr. Smith, age 87 of Charlotte passed away Monday June 23, 2014 at Novant Health Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1927 in Bristol TN, son of the late John Henry and Rosa Dye Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Frances Moser Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired salesman, a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and the Love Sunday School Class. The family will receive friend starting at 11:00 A. M. Thursday June 26, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Service 5716 Monroe Road Charlotte, NC 28212 with a service to celebrate his life at 12:00 P. M. in the funeral home chapel conducted by Reverend John Harrill. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. He is survived by his two sons, Bernard Smith, Jr. and wife Amanda of Midland, NC and David A. Smith and wife Diane of Charlotte, four grandchildren, Allen, Kelly, Jarrett and Monica and five great grandchildren.
