Mrs. Garret was a dedicated member of Holly-Hunter Baptist Church. There she served as a Sunday School teacher and in many capacities through the years. She is a past commander of the American Legion Auxillary and was a volunteer with the Special Olympics.
She leaves behind her son, Richard C. King of Rockledge, FL; grandchildren, Derick Ray King, Annapolis, MD, Andrea King, Tampa Fl. Ryan King and Nathan King both of Atlanta, GA,; brother Pete Meador of Alexandria, VA; 3 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is husband, Loudie Garret, son, Joseph Taylor King, Jr.; sister, Barbara Jones.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Garret will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday November 23rd at Forest Lawn West Chapel with Rev. Tim Nichols officiating. Entombment will follow the service in the Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
