

A native of Polk County, NC, Betty was born to the late Leroy and Florence J. McCraw. Betty made Charlotte, NC her home in 1959. She retired at the age of 75 in 2016. Betty enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, reading, painting, sewing, and spending time with her pets and family. She will be remembered as someone who welcomed others with her warm and friendly personality. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Alex Thomas Ivey, and brothers Mack McCraw, James McCraw, and Nolon McCraw.
Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Phyllis Ivey and husband Jacob, Sharon Earle and husband Chris, Jill Lovin and husband Scott, sister Katherine Phillips, and several nieces and nephews.
Proverbs 31:26,28-29,31: She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all”. Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
At Betty’s request, no memorial service will be held.
