Betty Jean Nance

Born in N. Wilkesboro, NC on September 9, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John C. Garner and Lucille McRorie Garner.

Betty was a member of Derita Baptist Church. She served alongside her late husband with the NC Baptist Men’s Region 6 Disaster Relief Crew helping people all over the world. Additionally, she was a volunteer with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Huntersville Oaks Hospital.

Her husband, Carl Mellon Nance, preceded her in death on October 28, 2010.

Survivors include her son, Terry Nance (Karen), her two daughters, Darlene Ward (Roger) and Jackie Cartee; her 3 grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Cody and Hunter Stilwell; and 2 great grandchildren, Link and Alani Williams.

Funeral services are planned for Noon on Monday, August 8, 2016 at McEwen Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Private burial will take place in Sunset Memory Gardens.
